Atom
Chapters 1–20
Almost all of an atom is empty space. Its tiny nucleus holds nearly all the weight, and electrons hum around it like a cloud.
Kolba's 300 chapters
Kolba's 300 chapters are one long zoom out. You begin inside a single atom; every 20 chapters the view pulls back one step, until the whole universe fits behind your tubes.
Chapters 1–20
Almost all of an atom is empty space. Its tiny nucleus holds nearly all the weight, and electrons hum around it like a cloud.
Chapters 21–40
Atoms join hands and become molecules. Two hydrogens and one oxygen make every drop of water you have ever touched.
Chapters 41–60
A twisted ladder written in four letters. The DNA in just one of your cells, stretched out, would be about two metres long.
Chapters 61–80
The smallest thing that is alive. You are built from tens of trillions of them, each one busy with its own work.
Chapters 81–100
A spoonful of soil holds more microbes than there are people on Earth. Most are harmless, and many keep us alive.
Chapters 101–120
Every leaf is a tiny factory: it turns sunlight, water and air into sugar, and breathes out the oxygen we breathe in.
Chapters 121–140
Bees, ladybirds and flowers trade favours here: nectar for one, carried pollen for the other.
Chapters 141–160
Under your feet, tree roots and fungi share water and food in a quiet network some call the wood wide web.
Chapters 161–180
Rivers carve valleys one grain at a time. This one took longer than every human life put together.
Chapters 181–200
A small fluffy cloud weighs about as much as a hundred elephants, held up by warm rising air.
Chapters 201–220
From up here no borders show. The space station circles the whole Earth in about ninety minutes.
Chapters 221–240
The Moon drifts about four centimetres further from us every year, roughly as fast as your fingernails grow.
Chapters 241–260
Sunlight takes about eight minutes to reach you, and more than five hours to reach Pluto.
Chapters 261–280
Our Sun is one of a few hundred billion stars in the Milky Way, which takes about 230 million years to turn once.
Chapters 281–300
There are more galaxies than anyone can count, and every one of them is made of atoms, like the first world you sorted in.
Every world is a small scene behind your tubes, with a few lines told in the game's journey page.
